Barks & Dialogue

Here you’ll find links to download some samples of NPC barks and dialogue.

In the first set of samples, I was required to write several one-line barks for a military-style gameplay feature.
Here, the players receive objective confirmation, milestone encouragement, and messages depending on the success or failure of the overall mission.

As there were several mission types for players to choose from, the intention was to write mission-specific barks, along with common barks that could be used for any mission type. This aided cost reduction for text-based localisation.

For branching NPC dialogue, I’ve been working as a volunteer within a larger group of modders who are creating a total Star Wars conversion of Starfield.

This sample concerns a rewritten NPC, originally Donna Rain, and the side quest Coffee Run, both now as the notorious Imperial spy Garindan, giving the player a repeatable side quest to locate Starpath units.

Whether it’s writing dialogue for screenplays or writing branching narratives for NPCs, I can help create natural, conversational interactions that delight players and make characters believable.
